Jenna Seiden is the Principal of Vertically Coastal Inc., an immersive media consultancy where she focuses on the AR/VR, location-based entertainment (LBE), video games and new media industries helping companies with their vision, implementing and executing on either project-based assignments as an advisor or extension of the team. Select projects include leading content strategy for SpringboardVR, an experience management and content distribution platform for entertainment, education and enterprise; serving as a venture advisor for Lumo Labs USA; and providing business development for a Blockchain-based digital storefront for interactive media. She currently is also the gaming co-chair of the Beverly Hills Infinity Film Festival.
Jenna was most recently the Head of Content Acquisition & Partnerships for HTC Viveport, managing the home, mobile and LBE storefronts. She has spent her career in both creative and business positions in the entertainment and technology sectors. At HTC she was responsible for building the global & China content portfolios for the app store, managing content operations and structuring deals with VR creators and developers across games, entertainment, sports, education, enterprise, lifestyle, creativity and utility among others. She also represented HTC in securing the Ready Player One theatrical marketing partnership with Warner Bros. and setting the initial content strategy marrying VR studios with the IP.
Prior to HTC, Jenna was the VP of Distribution at Maker Studios working with the multi-channel network's 50K+ You Tube talent to monetize their over 15M video assets off the platform. She set up the network's content operations team to deliver assets while negotiating deals with third-party distributors such as Amazon, AOL, DailyMotion, Roku, Yahoo, Modern Times Group and more. She built Maker's first OTT app, negotiated TV & book deals for some of the Top 50 talent and initiated the network's video game publishing business.
Before Maker, Jenna spent time at Xbox where she was the executive who spearheaded the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn production as VP of Content Development and Strategic Partnerships at Microsoft Studios. To help re-launch the multi-billion dollar franchise, she fought to reach new audiences on the digital platforms they now populated and produced a digital-first series come feature-length film using top Hollywood acting, writing and production talent. She negotiated distribution deals with distribution platforms such as Machinima and Netflix. And alongside the now current GM for Publishing at Microsoft Studios, Jenna also built the building blocks for Xbox's entertainment initiative, Microsoft Entertainment Studios.
Jenna served as an agent in the video games division at CAA where she represented top AAA and indie game studios to secure publishing deals for original console, PC and mobile titles. Her department represented the interests of such companies such as Respawn Entertainment, Insomniac Games, Double Fine Productions, Gearbox, ThatGameCompany, Giant Sparrow, The Odd Gentlemen, Valhalla Game Studios, and Epic Games. In addition, she represented the interests of the agency's acting, writing & producer clients in the interactive space such as setting up games divisions for Jerry Bruckheimer with MTV Games and Gore Verbinski with Universal Studios, as well as partnering TV & film writers with franchises such as Call of Duty, Command & Conquer, Far Cry and more.
She began her career in sports marketing at the NBA managing sponsorships for both the NBA and WNBA after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
