Founder - The Wandering Ben
I started as a co-op student at the University of Waterloo, with an internship at EA Mobile in Montreal as a Game Designer. After that, I jumped around the industry for a while, with roles in mobile (XMG Studios) and AAA (Silicon Knights, BioWare, Visceral). I worked as both a Software Engineer and a Game Designer in various capacities, but I like Game Design much more and I feel way more qualified talking about that!
A couple years ago, I left Visceral Games to start my own indie company, The Wandering Ben. Indie game development has been quite the ride, and I just released my first indie title, A Case of Distrust, on February 8th. It seems to be a polarizing game -- getting a 9/10 from Polygon, but a 6.75/10 from GameInformer. We'll see where it eventually lands once more reviews come in! But I'm proud of this thing, and I really learned a LOT from my years as an indie dev -- especially when it comes to scheduling, exhibiting at shows, and networking.
